Stacey Berger
Stacey Berger is the principal of CHQ Capital which invests in commercial real estate and early stage businesses, and Hope Housing Partners, a private investment firm focused on value-added multifamily real estate. Berger is a nationally recognized leader and expert in commercial loan servicing and special servicing, distressed debt management and resolution.
Berger retired as executive vice president of PNC Bank, NA after over 30 years of leadership in the commercial real estate finance industry. At PNC, Berger was a member of the PNC Real Estate senior leadership team and was responsible for corporate strategy and business development activities as co-head of Midland Loan Services. Midland is the leading provider of loan servicing, asset management and technology solutions for the commercial mortgage finance industry. The company is one of the nation’s largest commercial loan servicers with over $600 billion in outstanding loans. As a special servicer, Midland is responsible for asset management, workout and resolution of a $150 billion CMBS portfolio.
Berger served as president of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (formerly CMSA) and received the association’s Founders Award. He also served as vice chairman of the commercial/multifamily board of directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association and received its Outstanding Service award.
Berger is an Executive in Residence at the Albert Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, and a member of the Business School Council. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Chautauqua Foundation and the Gulf South Angels (formerly New Orleans Angel Investor Network.) He received a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1976 and a Master of Business Administration in 1978 from Tulane University.
